Music is my passion. I love working with students to show them how to create music, and to teach them proper technique and good practice habits. It is such a joy to see them grow in their skills.

My musical journey began in 2001 when I began violin lessons first with Lois Weeks and then Cristina Seaborn. Early on, I discovered that orchestra is one of my favorite performance venues. Beginning in sixth grade, I participated in the Seaborn Youth Orchestra and the St. Cloud Symphony Youth Orchestra, along with many summer string camps. I played in the St. Cloud State University Orchestra for six years, holding positions as both the Assistant Section Leader and Section Leader of the second violins.

I have been a member of the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra since 2012, and joined the Bethlehem Chamber Orchestra in 2015. I currently study violin with Dr. Marion Judish. Along with violin, I have taken instruction in viola, cello, and piano. I also have performed for weddings, funerals, and nursing/assisted living homes, as well as serving on the worship team at our church.

My string studio began in 2011. I have also been the Assistant Orchestra Director with the Cathedral High School Youth Orchestra, Assistant Conductor/Mentor with the St. Cloud State University Youth Orchestra, and an intern/mentor with several youth orchestras and summer music camps.

I hold an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from North Hennepin Community College. I also attended St. Cloud State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. While there, I worked for several semesters with Dr. Marion Judish, concertmaster of the St. Cloud Symphony and professor of violin/viola at St. Cloud State University, on a research project studying the violin bow. This resulted in a research document and weekly lessons focusing specifically on bowing technique.

Aside from music, I am a graduate of our homeschool, Superior Grace Christian Academy.  Biking, walking, skiing, ice skating, cross stitching, and knitting are some of my favorite hobbies. I also enjoy writing informational essays and articles related to music and politics/government. As a family we love to go Letterboxing (www.atlasquest.com) and do day trips to northern Minnesota and state parks.
