This is a list of some upcoming local concerts.  I share this information because it is good for music students to watch and listen to other professional musicians – you can learn so much through both observation and listening, and also because it is a wonderful encouragement to keep practicing.  In addition, it is very enjoyable to go and listen to good music!

I heard on the radio once that Christians especially have a higher sense of enjoyment and appreciation for things because we know where they came from, whether it’s the tiny little violet on the ground, the gorgeous sunset on a fall evening, or a symphony concert playing Mahler’s Fifth Symphony.  We understand that all of these are a gift from the Lord, and we praise Him for blessing us with so many wonderful things.  Music is basically many different sounds of various frequencies that when played together, produce the amazing pieces that makes us laugh, cry, relax, be inspired…  You can find more about this marvelous phenomenon of music in the Principles on Music page.

I will also list the pieces being performed in each concert, so if attending in person is not possible, you can look up the music on YouTube, if you so desire.

The St. Cloud Symphony has a special program for music students called the “Student Ticket Program.”  For $25.00 a music student and two other guests can receive tickets to a Symphony concert.  Contact me for the e-mail address to take advantage of this program.  Information on regular ticket purchases can be found here.
